Built between 70 – 72 AD, the Roman Colosseum is one of the worlds best examples of Roman design. It was started under emperor Vespasian and finished in 80 AD under Titus. It has a history of holding games and events for over 500 years. It’s use went on even after the Roman empire fell in 476. One of the true wonders of the modern world.

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, “O me! O life!… of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless… of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?” Answer. That you are here – that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?”

Will it ever be possible to travel through the folds of time? In my humble view, it has to be possible. With all of the unexplainable things in this world, I can see it being possible in my imagination. When I think of time, I think about the fabric of our universe – space time.
If we as a race could discover how to travel in time, how would we responsibly use it … or based on our governments current record, irresponsibly use it. What effects would those choices have on the rest of the world? We could change some of the worst crimes ever committed against humanity. We could stop 9/11 … World War II and many others.
This begs the question … have there been things that might of happened in the world, that have been avoided for us by some external force – perhaps someone or something traveling back in time to save us from something major? IF they have, then why not avoid the other catastrophes? Perhaps they have a reason…
I enjoy Steven Hawkings point of view - if it is possible, then a future civilization will figure it out ….. if so, where are all of the future tourists? Shouldn’t they be here now?
I can say one thing for sure. Anyone who can manipulate time, can quite literally rule the world – becoming somewhat of a god.
What do you think?

“If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.”
